Apr 25, 2024 - Recent events + new art + store open!
In the last month I’ve done Wellington Armageddon and Overload (Auckland) which were both great!
I have definitely Run Out Of a lot of stuff, so now that I have no big cons in the next while I’m planning on restocking pins etc & making some new designs. At some point. I have other work to do also.
My next event is the Comics Zine Market on May 5! Obviously being a comics focused event, I’m not going to have most of my stuff - just a few copies of older comics or display copies to read through, and maybe my bookmarks. I’m also planning on doing the Newtown vintage & craft market on June 1, if it’s on (depends if enough people sign up).
I somehow have 10k followers on tiktok?? Which of course means I spent a number of days sorting everything into playlists (and replacing all of those deleted audios..). I have playlists for process/speedpaints, events, book fanart, bookmarks, book design, as well as a few others. I love to organise and sort things. Tiktok is probably the most consistent place I post speedpaints if you want to find those!
Also i’m nominated for a hugo again. woohoo
New Art
The last Scapegracers book came out, and I drew a scene from it to celebrate! (Maybe not the most celebratory scene….. but yknow.)
My newest piece of This Is How You Lose The Time War fanart! This has been rotating in my brain for a while, and I’m glad a lot of people like it!
Finished an old wip of Dumai from A Day of Fallen Night! I’ve been wanting to a) do more landscapes in my fanart and b) try out some sketchier/flat styles for art like this.
At overload we did a fish/ocean themed stamp rally, and I made this design for it. rock pool orb :)

New prints!
I’ve started to get sorted printing prints from home - so I can do prints on demand now! My printer doesn’t like super dark saturated blue/greens, so it does depend on the individual piece - but if you have any requests for prints I can probably do that (from postcard to a4 size). I print them on 230gsm matte paper, so they’re thinner than my usual a5 prints, and 100% matte (the usual ones from the shop have a slight shine)
So I do now have prints of a few new things as pictured above. I also printed some of my To Shape A Dragon’s Breath sketches onto brown card as some mini prints, and with those (plus the A5 art) I’m currently donating profits to the author’s fundraiser to get to the Nebulas.
I have two new sticker designs! A transparent purple rock crab, and the rock pool sticker that I made as a prize for the overload fish stamp rally.
I also made some little murderbot stickers that I’ve been giving away with the bookmarks, but you can also buy them now if you want! And I restocked a version of my Jim/OFMD dagger without the name on the hilt, for people who just like oranges I guess.
