Updates!

A couple weeks ago I did the Bookmark Kāpiti author market!

It was a funny little event, different from my usual, but it was good! I was indeed the only non-author/publisher. I brought along some of my picture books/books I designed/school journals etc for people to browse.

I've been posting my new bookmark designs on instagram and tumblr - each with a handful of matching book recs (cover & content wise). You can find these in my bookmarks tag on my book blog!

This Saturday on September 6 I will be at the Newtown Market in Wellington (by the vege market), as usual my store will be closed for the day, and back open asap.

I am doing another auction of all my bookmarks for Gaza with bookbindsforacause - this is from sep 26-28, so in a few weeks. I will be posting about it mainly on instagram so keep an eye there, not sure if I'll send another newsletter before then. If you do have some spare money right now, you could donate to Basel, a father in Gaza trying to take care of his two young daughters.

New Art

I also once again did some art and then thought 'could I make this cover-shaped?' the book is more fun-space-adventure than this maybe implies imo but I like the way it looks.

Finished up something that's been sitting in my drafts for ages about my general feelings on ai. it sucks! it replaces human art & jobs with meaningless slop and the data centres use an incredible amount of water & energy and pollute the environment. i'm tired.

The Dragonfall merch collection is live! It was fun to work on these. You can get them now from Kingdom of Threads, if they ship to you (I don't think they ship to nz 😥)

Online Store

So this new US tariff thing on all incoming packages sucks I guess, I'm no longer sending packages to the US (in fact NZpost has halted it entirely). This is just pins/charms/coin purses, so isn't a massive deal, I already didn't send them to the UK/EU. Bookmarks/stickers/prints/zines are sent as letter mail so they should be fine 👍 and honestly this is more of what I sell so it doesn't affect me as much as some.

Some new art prints:

an a5 print of my The Butterfly Assassin art, and a miniprint of the new Starving Saints art. I also added a5 prints of my This Fatal Kiss art, since I realised I hadn't done that.

I did also get a5 prints of my Isle In The Silver Sea art. I haven't put them on my store yet because idk if it's weird to sell art of a book that isn't even out yet haha. But if you were planning on making an order and want that too feel free to bug me about it I guess.

I have a few b grade versions of these when I was figuring out the colour (my printer made the original art too yellowish) & i'm happy to put them in any orders for free if you request

Not something that's on my store (yet) but I realised the other day I could make stickers out of any little guy I've drawn... Is this something people want? I made some for fun (sticks them in my phone case) and then also went and grabbed all my fullbody art I've done over the years and put them in a folder.... They're mostly not formatted for printing or anything so I'd just have to do that on request, if there's demand.....let me know....

Finally, if this is something anyone finds interesting.....I keep a map of where around the world people have ordered from! It mostly lives in google sheets but since that doesn't have separate aus/canada states I made my own version too. I am SO close to getting every single state in those 3 countries. wyoming, northern territory and the north of canada (idk if I'll ever get that but who knows)....there must be someone out there....

got a significant amount of europe now and also shoutout the one person each from singapore/philippines/brazil/saudi arabia ✌ so cool to have my bookmarks (it's mostly bookmarks) in so many places around the world! wow!
